Collection: Mustard Cuts

I've had a passion for design since joining the graphic design industry in 1987. For the whole of my career, I have been surrounded by inspiring creative people, but I am geared toward the technical side of design, following my strengths – a keen eye for detail and consistency. So for the last 36 years, I have been a creative artworker, and it's still my day job.

Around 10 years ago, I became aware of Rob Ryan. He creates stunning paper-cut designs and has collaborated with many prestigious names. I was inspired by Rob, and although I lacked confidence in my illustrative skills, I knew I had scalpel skills after many years of practice in graphic design. (I started on a drawing board before we had Apple Macs; just imagine how a magazine was created with a computer!)

So here I am now. I've been trading for 10 years. I started with heavily detailed designs, inspired by my love for nature, the outdoor world, and the creatures around us. But I also have a love for the simplicity a silhouette can offer, hence my ever-growing range of mini silhouettes.

I still cut everything by hand, and people will often ask why. "Why not?" I say! I enjoy it, and I hope you do too.
